Job Description: 

As an Assistant Chef at Kovai Restaurants LLC, you will work closely with our experienced culinary team to prepare and create South Indian dishes of the highest quality. You will assist in food preparation, menu execution, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness, all while gaining valuable experience in a professional kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Assist in preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and chef instructions, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.

• Menu Execution: Collaborate with the head chef and culinary team to ensure timely and accurate execution of menu items during busy service periods.

• Ingredient Management: Maintain awareness of ingredient freshness, assist with ingredient sourcing, and adhere to proper storage and rotation practices.

• Quality Control: Assist in maintaining food quality and presentation standards by following recipes and instructions.

• Kitchen Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment, as well as keeping workstations tidy.

• Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to all safety and hygiene standards, including food handling and sanitation regulations.

• Assist in Training: Support the training and development of kitchen staff, as needed, to ensure a cohesive and skilled team.

Qualifications:

• Culinary degree or relevant culinary certification is preferred but not required; practical kitchen experience is highly valued.

• Strong passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn and grow in a professional kitchen setting.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, demonstrating teamwork and effective communication.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
